KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Ir. Chair Professor NI, Yi Qing (Y.Q. Ni) is a Chair Professor of Smart Structures and Rail Transit Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. He is also the Director of National Engineering Research Center on Rail Transit Electrification and Automation (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Hong Kong and Co-Director of International Research Institute of Smart Structural Systems and Informatics (ISSSI), Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He did his PhD Ph in Structural Dynamics from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. His research interest include Structural health monitoring, Structural dynamics and control, Smart materials and structures; Sensors and actuators; Monitoring and control in rail engineering.
YE Xiaowei is an Associate Professor at Institute of Transportation Engineering in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. His research interest includes structural health monitoring, AI-aided structural condition assessment and long-term structural performance. His publications has been focused around, machine learning based forecasting, Computer vision‐based monitoring of the 3‐D structural deformation, structural crack detection using deep learning, use of Random Decrement Signatures (RDS), smart sensing technologies etc.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emre Baraktar is a Director and Professor School of Construction and Design, University of Southern Mississippi, USA. He has over 20 years' experience in research and academia. Management and optimization of infrastructure projects; mega transportation projects; use of renewable energy in infrastructure projects; project risk management and decision support systems; innovative contracting techniques and project finance etc. He has published more than 27 journal papers, several conference proceedings papers and industrial reports. He has worked on 15 international funded projects in USA, and Turkey.
Dr. Uvais Ahmed Qidwa is the Assistant Professor for the EECS Department at Tulane University from 2001 to 2005. He was also a Part Time Visiting Lecturer for the University of Massachusetts, and a Senior Design Supervisor at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. He is also an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at Qatar University, and has been there since 2005.
